Agios Kirikos is the capital of Ikaria island. It is a nice seaside town in the South East corner of Ikaria. With its port and the nearby airport, it constitutes a very important gateway to the island. It is the home of most public services. Built mainly on the hills surrounding the harbor, it combines the charm of an Aegean picture with the life of a small city which preserves its identity.
The area around Agios Kirikos is of great natural, historical, and touristic interest. The beautiful hills above Agios Kirikos offer a unique view of the islands of Patmos, Fourni and Samos,
and on a clear day, the mountains behind the Turkish coast can also be seen.
From Agios Kirikos port, the visitor can go for a day trip to the Fourni cluster of islets, with its numerous bays and lonely beaches.
Agios Kirikos also offers a variety of private and public services, such as tourist agencies and all types of travel arrangements, banks, shops, taverns, restaurants, cafes and bars.
